Villa Laras
Villa Laras is a unique design set amongst nature. It is based on the traditional Javanese limasan form, incorporating antique carved teak panels and contemporary features. The high ceilings create passive cooling ensuring that the villa stays cool both during the day and at night. You can rent individual rooms in Villa Laras or the entire villa.
As well as being a family home and a guest house, the Studios were always envisaged as a refuge for nature and a retreat for artists. We welcome musicians, writers and artists and we support the arts in many ways. If you are an artist, a musician, a writer or a yogi looking for a creative retreat, let us know.

Upstairs you have the choice of sleeping in an antique Madurese canopy double bed in the Madura bedroom, or under the romantic kelambu netting in the master bedroom. Both rooms have air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a bathtub. Downstairs you’ll find two double or twin bedrooms and one single bedroom, each room has air-conditioning and an en-suite open-to-sky bathroom.
We also have an extra portable single bed and a baby cot that can be set up for additional guests (subject to availability). Let us know if you require either of these at time of booking.
Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen comes complete with everything you need to cook at home and is ideal for families and those on extended trips wanting the option of home cooked food. Our on-site staff can prepare beautiful home cooked meals from our kitchen which will be delivered to your door. These can be pre-ordered from the menu. Nutritious breakfasts are provided, and other meals can be ordered in advance. Enjoy fresh eggs and fruit from the garden, in season.
You can dine at the breakfast bar, the dining room table or outside on the terrace.
Open Plan Lounge
A spacious open plan lounge can be opened to the garden so you can effortlessly move between the indoor living space and outdoor terrace. A large upstairs gallery with seating and dining area overlooks the ocean.
Our lounge comes complete with comfortable sofas, an armchair and flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Free internet is available throughout the complex.
Pool & Gardens
A large infinity pool shared between our 3 villas), set amongst our unspoilt tropical garden with surrounding views, is perfect for diving and laps. There is a smaller one-metre deep, partially shaded kids pool, complete with fern garden and mini-waterfall to play under.
Our large garden has been planted with native ornamentals and fruit trees. The sits alongside natural patches of wildflowers. Flowering acacias, fragrant frangipani and pagodas, coconut palms and a range of local trees and shrubs attract a variety of birds and butterflies.
We have a BBQ area (BBQ packages are available), and a massage pavilion, with an on-call masseuse.
A place to swim, read and absorb the surrounding beauty. Listen to the birds, watch the monkey family and the fishermen at sea whilst the wonderful staff fulfil their duties quietly around you.

The villa and overall property are beautiful. We love the ocean view and the surrounding nature. The owner and staff are friendly and ready to help you 24/7. The villa is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Senggigi so it’s not far from the beach and the tourist spots, but you can still feel its exclusivity.
